Following on from the success of previous years, Sacco Mann held their annual rowing event last week raising money for their two chosen charities – St. Gemma’s Hospice and Sunshine and Smiles, both of whom do fantastic work in the Yorkshire area.
Over 20 teams competed throughout the day, rowing 2000m between each team of 4, and what a competitive bunch they had this year! Once again, it came down to a head to head between LCF Law and reigning champions Sagars. This neck-and-neck race was live-streamed on Sacco Mann’s Facebook page and is always eagerly anticipated. Sagars narrowly pipped LCF Law to the post with a fantastic time of 6mins 20secs – what a result!
This year, they also held a bake sale in the Broad Gate Atrium, providing Friday afternoon sustenance to rower’s and Broad Gate neighbours with some yummy cakes, cookies and donuts!
We would like to thank all of the teams who participated on the day, the two chosen charities for providing raffle prizes and helping out on the day, and also to The Gym for not only providing the rowing machines but giving the Sacco Mann rowers a run for their money on the day!
This year, Sacco Mann raised £1129.80 to be split between the two charities – a brilliant achievement!
